Description
I have been winding pickups for a decade, focusing mainly on repairing vintage pickups and making new custom pickups when off the shelf options were not available. I’ve had the opportunity to examine many different designs and have become familiar with the materials and methods used to make great sounding pickups.
Now I am launching my own line of small batch hand wound pickups, starting with Stratocaster sets. I have an Alnico 3 set that is slightly overwound with a great clear vintage tone but a bit more punch. The combination of low strength magnets and extra winds yields wonderfully clear highs and a full warm low end.
